You cannot grow taller for the rest of your life. There are lots of things which you can change about yourself, but height isn’t one of them. Most men stop growing at the age of 25 and most women stop growing by the age of 18. However there are many exceptions to these statistics.
You can never be 100% sure that you have reached your maximum adult height, but there are certain ways of predicting your maximum height or figure out when you have grown to your maximum height.
One way to tell is if you have not grown for more than a year. This usually means that you have reached your maximum height and that you will not grow any taller. In some cases, people grow taller after a couple of years, but in most cases if you haven’t grown for a long time, you will not grow taller.
Another way is to look at both your parents’ and grandparents’ height. If you have reached their height and stopped growing for a couple of months, then you will probably not grow any taller. 80% of your height is determined by genes and if you don’t have the genes for being taller, you won’t get taller unless you get hormonal injections.
These were two basic ways, but there are also other ways such as comparing yourself to siblings. Usually siblings don’t have significant difference between their heights. If you have significant difference in height from your brother or sister, then you can expect to grow taller, because chances are that you haven’t reached your maximum height.
You might also be able to tell that you have reached your adult height by looking at averages in your country. A lot of the times when you have reached the average height you might have reached the adult height. Since country averages takes in a lot of factors like food, health, and genetics. If you have average availability of food, health and genes then you can expect to grow an average height that most men/women in your country grow to.
These are the ways you can tell if you have reached your adult height. Remember, nothing is guaranteed. There are lots of factors about height which haven’t even been discovered by science and that is why predicting height can be very tough. Also if you maintain a healthy diet, play basketball, jump a lot then that might help in increasing your height by a couple of inches. Do not be disappointed if your adult height is below average, because height isn’t in your control. Instead try to control your diet, body type and health by exercising and eating healthy foods.
